Action 100 Years Junkers F 13

After the First World War, engineers and technicians led by Hugo Junkers and Otto Reuters began designing and building a new type of passenger aeroplane. The aircraft was developed exclusively for civilian use. The first flight took place on 25 June 1919. Several record flights followed.

A whole series of radio amateurs would like to commemorate this engineering achievement with this campaign. These include members of the Flieger-Funk-Runde e.V. members of the OV’s Dessau, ZAB Dessau and many other YL’s and OM’s.
6 special stations with the prefix DF13 symbolise the former Junkers factory in Dessau and the 5 locations where original Junkers F 13s can still be found.

At the end of the campaign, 39 078 QSOs (CW: 16 234 – Phone: 11 510 – Digital: 11 334) were recorded in the logbooks.
